Golf Professional and Pro Shop
Our Head Golf Professional, Brad Clark, is a native of the Waterloo, Cedar Falls Area He went to West High School and earned a golf scholarship to Clemson University where he graduated with a B.S. in Management. After turning Professional in 1988, he played in several “Mini-Tour” events while teaching lessons at Metro Golf and Sport in Waterloo. As an apprentice in the PGA, Brad was an Assistant Golf Professional at South Hills Golf Course (Waterloo, IA), Short Hills Country Club (East Moline, IL), and Windermere Country Club (Windermere, FL). He achieved Class A status in the summer of 1995 and was hired at Beaver Hills in 1996. Currently, Brad is a Class A-1 member of the PGA with more than 15 years of experience in the golf business. Beaver Hills is both a member of the Iowa Section PGA, the USGA, and the Iowa Golf Association.
The Pro Shop at Beaver Hills is a full service facility, offering the latest in golf equipment and related services. Brad and his staff of experts; including a PGA Assistant Golf Professional, are always available to satisfy all of your golfing needs and desires! Goods and Services
The golf professionals are certified to provide club fitting for individuals of all ages, sizes, and skill levels. Ping has provided its’ state of the art fitting system for use on our driving range and an appointment can be arranged to fit even the busiest schedule. It is important that golfers have access to reasonably priced equipment which fits and enhances their game, and gives them their best opportunity to lower their handicaps!
Lessons are available to brush up on fundamentals or correct serious swing flaws. A one-on-one hour of instruction from a trained caring golf professional may be all it takes to get you on the fast track to lower scores. Lessons can be individualized to improve all facets of the game including driving, iron play, pitching, chipping, putting, sand play, course management, and mental processes. Video analysis, drills, and training aids are methods used to give you immediate feedback in order to make changes fast.
All of golf’s top companies and latest technologies can be found in the Pro Shop. From Ping irons and Cleveland woods to Odyssey putters and Titleist golf balls, the best selling brands on the market are at your fingertips. A knowledgeable staff and large selection of golf equipment are available to satisfy even the most particular golfer. Special requests can be fulfilled as the Pro Shop has an account with nearly every supplier under the sun. The Pro Shop takes pride in being the home to anything golf for club members and guests.
Should you have a need to update your golf attire, the Pro Shop also carries several popular lines of both Men’s and Women’s apparel. Adidas, Greg Norman, Nike, and Footjoy, are just a few of the fashions on display throughout the golf season. Headwear, footwear, shirts, and pants … its’ all here; so enjoy a little shopping in between rounds of golf. It’s always important to look and feel your best!
Amenities and Prices
MOTORIZED CARTS are charged per person (by the seat). Always check-in at the Pro Shop to let the staff know if you will be riding. Partial rounds will be charged at the full 9 or 18-hole rate. You must be 16 years or older to drive a cart. Carts must always be kept at least 40 feet from all greens and tee boxes. The Pro Shop reserves the right to deny carts to those who don’t follow the rules.

BAG STORAGE is convenient if you wish to leave your clubs at the golf course to be cleaned and ready for your next visit. The annual fee is nominal, so tipping is encouraged for the outside attendants. Our bag storage area opens with Pro Shop and closes at nightfall when the last players have completed their rounds.
PULL CARTS are complimentary with bag storage so there are no member-owned pull carts allowed in the storage area. Simply let one of the staffers know if you wish to take a pull cart. Pull carts are located in front of the Pro Shop. Obviously, pull carts are also available to be rented on a per-round basis.

Mandatory Annual Fee Covers One Handicap & All Access Driving Range: $95.00
THE DRIVING RANGE opens each morning at the same time as the golf course and closes approximately one hour before dark. Monthly hours are posted outside of the Pro Shop. Always yield to the golfers playing holes #7 and #9, range players are responsible for their safety. The range closes each season on Nov. 1st.
UNLIMITED RANGE is available for your convenience; however, we ask that you keep turf damage to a minimum on our limited teeing area.
HANDICAP SERVICE is provided by the pro shop through the Handicomp Network. You may enter scores in the computer located just inside the pro shop; updates are downloaded and posted every two weeks throughout the golf season. It is a terrific way to monitor your performance and allow you to compete with golfers of all skill levels. An official handicap is often required for club and outside events.

Programs and Event Fees
MEN’S DAY… $30.00 annually - Flag Events, Thursdays All Day Long (May – August)
LADIES’ DAY… $20.00 annually - Group Games, Wednesdays @ 8:30, 1:00, or 5:30 (May – August)
HOLE-IN-ONE CLUB… $10.00 per incident - No Charge Until Ace Is Made, Acers Win Pot In Pro Shop Credit
Club Events and Tournaments
Kick-Off Classic, Spring, and Late Summer Mixers: These events are open to anyone with an established handicap. Teams are drawn and are compromised of an A,B,C, & D player. The formats of these events are fun and encourage golfers of all skill levels to participate.
Open 3-Person Best Shots: Held in May and September, these tournaments are open to the public as well as our members. Players create their own teams and the event is flighted at the completion of play. Men, women, and mixed teams are all welcome to participate.
Ladies’ Clinics: Every Tuesday in May the golf professionals conduct a one hour clinic for Women. There is a minimal charge for each clinic… attend one or attend the entire series. This is an enjoyable way to brush up on fundamentals or to begin playing.
Men’s Stag Events: Once a month on Thursday from May to September, Beaver Hills conducts a stag for the members. Participants make their own foursomes, and compete in a variety of formats. Festivities kick-off in a shotgun start and finish up with a derby and dinner.
Ladies’ Stagette Events: Three times a year on Wednesday, all the groups of women golfers get together for a day of fun. Teams of four are drawn and sent out to play in a Shotgun start. Golf is followed with lunch or dinner depending on the event.
Twilight Couples: Once or twice a month on Friday Night the course is reserved for couples to come out and play a nine hole event with a unique theme and format followed by dinner in the clubhouse. Generally some type of 4-Person Best Shot is played so beginning golfers are encouraged to participate.
Events For Juniors: Parent/Child Nights, Junior Open, Junior Club Championship are all events established to enhance the Junior Golf Program at Beaver Hills. Get them started early!
Holiday Couples Events: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day are annually host to a couples’ event for the members of Beaver Hills. Teams consist of two couples playing a creative handicapped event. Tee times must be made in advance.
The Majors
*These events are a bit more competitive in nature and are rich with tradition. Participation is heavy and there is a certain amount of prestige that goes along with winning these titles.
Men’s Member/Guest: This is a new event using a round robin type of Matchplay format over the course of two days. Two man teams are handicapped and flighted before the start of play. Top point winners after 5 matches qualify for a Shoot-Out to determine the overall champion.
President’s/First Lady’s Cup: These are a handicapped Two-Player Best Ball Matchplay Event played over the course of the golf season. Players pick their own partners and schedule their matches before a deadline.
Club Championship: This is a 36-hole event to determine our champions at various skill levels. Played over a weekend this flighted event is open to everyone with an established handicap. Our Voorhees Cup is also awarded to the low net scores for both men and Women.
Special Event: Players are again drawn from pools based on handicap and the teams are Auctioned a couple of days prior to the actual 18-Hole event. All golfers with 10 scores on their current year’s handicap are eligible.
